PRESS RELEASE: Child Annoyance Information Wanted
On Sunday, October 29, 2017, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Manhattan Beach Police Department responded to the area of the 500 block of Valley Drive in regard to a suspicious male. A female juvenile was walking alone when an adult male walked up behind her and offered her candy and asked her age. The juvenile avoided the male by running to a friend’s house. While walking back home, the juvenile observed the same male adult inside of a vehicle. The male told the juvenile she should not be out by herself, and that she should get into his vehicle so he could drive her home. The juvenile ran away to her residence.
The male adult and his vehicle are described as follows:
Adult male, African American, dark skin, approximately 30 years old, tall, medium build with muscular arms, short black hair, no facial hair, wearing a gray tank top and pants
Brownish/greenish older model vehicle, possibly a sedan with either 2 or 4 doors, very dirty and possibly containing some rust, with a tan interior and bucket style front seats
Anyone with additional information about the case should contact Detective Aleina Smith at (310) 802-5133 or the Manhattan Beach Police Department Tip Line at (310) 802-5171.
