Advisory

Starting Monday, November 6, parking in residential areas surrounding Madison redevelopment will be monitored and enforced.

As a result of public comments, concerns and questions from this summer’s parking forum and due to the redevelopment of Madison Parking Lot, the Borough has identified a primary goal to manage “spillover” parking into adjacent neighborhoods impacted by high parking demand throughout construction. In order to meet this goal, we will be implementing restrictions for non-metered, on-street parking spaces within the geographic area seen on the map.

To ensure residential neighborhoods are not overwhelmed by commuters, employees and visitors, the Borough has created a Local Resident Parking area pursuant to Section 114-27(C). This allows the Police Chief to enact and enforce a temporary restriction to vehicular parking on specified streets for resident-owned vehicles only. What this means is that parking within the identified area will be for vehicles of residents living on adjoining streets and blocks of the streets listed only. All others who park in the area, which will be clearly marked with “Local Resident Parking Only” signage, are subject to parking violations and fines. Enforcement of the identified area will begin Monday, November 6 and will take place twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week by Lansdale Parking Enforcement and Lansdale Police.

Any residents who notice commuters, employees or visitors parking in the identified streets are asked to work with the Borough by contacting Lansdale Police at 215-368-1801 so that appropriate action can be taken with those vehicles. Parking management is and will continue to be a collaborative effort throughout the duration of redevelopment and construction in Madison Parking Lot and through the process we look to accommodate residential parking demand without compromising access to visitors of Lansdale. We are aware this is not the only solution, but it is part of the solution and the Borough will continually monitor progress and make changes as necessary for the benefit of all parties involved.
