San Gabriel Police Department to Participate in “No-Shave November” To Raise Awareness of Men’s Health Issues

SAN GABRIEL, CA - Throughout the month of November, the San Gabriel Police Department will participate in “No-Shave November” to raise awareness of men’s health issues such as prostate and colon cancers.
San Gabriel Police Department believes that a healthy community is a happy community. When people are healthy, it has a positive impact on their physical, mental, and social well-being.
The San Gabriel Police Department believes we are in a unique position to have a positive impact on the community through many interactions in a variety of situations. To help us encourage living a healthy lifestyle through these interactions, the San Gabriel Police Department is participating in “No-Shave November” through the month of November. “No-Shave November” is a worthy nationwide cause that raises awareness of men’s health issues and helps to support healthy and stress-free lives.
For a small donation (optional), male San Gabriel police officers and staff members have the option of growing facial hair (a mustache, goatee or beard) throughout the month of November. For the ladies wishing to participate, a flower arrangement or large bow may be worn in their hair while at work. The facial hair for men and flower arrangement for the ladies are intended to stimulate conversation with the community about men’s health issues and to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
San Gabriel Police Department is looking to raise money to donate to someone in the community who you may know battling prostate or colon cancer.
Police officers always have a plan whenever we need to solve a problem. Like our police officers, we encourage everyone to have a plan to detect the serious diseases impacting men in their early stages, as well as in leading a healthy and happy lifestyle.
