Traffic stop leads to the arrest of three. 
On November 2, 2017, at 1:03 a.m. Deputy U.B. Smith observed a Black 2008 Chevy passenger car speeding on State Road 57 near Oakland City. Upon conducting a traffic stop Deputy Smith detected the odor of burnt Marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. At that point a roadside investigation was conducted that resulted in the driver 21 year old Axel Freudenberg of rural Oakland City being taken into custody. Also taken into custody were two passengers 20 year old Damon Logestan of Somerville and 18 year old Seth Sales of Oakland City.
All individuals were transported to the Gibson County Jail. Mr. Fruedenberg was charged Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (DUI). He has since posted a $550 bond. Mr. Logestan and Mr. Sales were each charged with Possession of Marijuana and both remain in custody on a $550 bond.
Assisting Deputy Smith in his investigation was Deputy Ben Kiesel and Oakland City Officer Grant Fulkerson.
All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
