News Story - Domestic Violence Arrest

Nature of Incident: Domestic Violence Arrest Report Number: 17-163412 Location: Port Hueneme Date & Time: 10/26/2017 @ 2:20 PM Unit(s) Responsible: Camarillo Detectives, Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail, West County Gang Unit and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit. (S)uspects, (V)ictims, (P)arty, (D)ecedent City of Residence Age (S) Michael Trujillo, Port Hueneme, 33 yrs Narrative: On 10/26/2017, Camarillo Detectives, Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail Officers, Sheriff’s Gang Unit Detectives and a Ventura County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit arrested a domestic violence suspect. On 10/25/2017, Camarillo patrol deputies responded to a call of a domestic disturbance. When deputies arrived at the scene they contacted the victim, who had a traumatic injury. The victim stated Trujillo, who she was dating, caused her injuries during a domestic dispute. The suspect left the scene prior to deputies arriving and his whereabouts were unknown. The victim was transported to the hospital and it was confirmed her injuries were significant. On 10/26/2017, at about 1420 hours, Camarillo Detectives, Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail Officers, Sheriff’s Gang Unit Detectives and a Ventura County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit conducted a probation search at Trujillo’s residence. As deputies approached, they saw Trujillo outside the residence. When Trujillo saw the deputies, he ran into the residence and hid. Deputies made entry and announced that a Sheriff’s K9 was going to be used to conduct the search. After hearing the announcement, Trujillo surrendered without further incident. He was arrested and booked into the Sheriff’s Main Jail. Trujillo was booked into the Main Jail for PC 273.5 – Causing corporal injury to domestic partner, PC243(d) – Battery with serious bodily injury and PC 422 – Criminal threats. Trujillo is currently in-custody, with his bail set at $100,000.
