Police Seek Suspects Who Shot at Picacho Middle School
Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to $1,000 for information that helps identify three young men – possibly teenagers or young adults – who were together Oct. 7 when one of them fired shots at Picacho Middle School, damaging at least four windows.
Las Cruces police learned that, shortly before 4 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7, three young men were loitering at Picacho Middle School when one of them used a handgun to fire two rounds toward the school’s main entrance. The rounds damaged four windows at the entryway. Damage to the school is estimated at approximately $2,000. The suspects were last seen walking east toward Moon River Loop.
The incident was captured on surveillance video and Las Cruces police are hoping someone can help identify the suspects. The video can be seen on the Las Cruces Police Department’s Facebook page.
Anyone with information that can help identify any of the three suspects is asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
