Hundreds of Pounds of Unwanted and Expired Prescription Medications turned in at DEA Drug Take Back

During the last six months, MBPD has collected numerous discarded prescription medications from the City's deposit box located in the Police Department lobby.

On Saturday, October 28, 2017, MBPD conducted a joint public collection with the DEA to allow the public to turn in unwanted or expired medication.  The collection effort occurred at the Police Department.

As a result of both the City collection box and the public collection which took place on Saturday, we collected at total of 834 pounds of unwanted and expired medication.  The DEA has taken these medications for destruction.

We would like to thank the community for turning in their unwanted and expired medications.  This helps prevent narcotics from getting into the wrong hands and helps prevent a possible overdose.
