Janesville Police make arrest for homicide by intoxicated use of motor vehicle 
Back on 05-03-17 at 2:30 PM the Janesville Police Department investigated a single vehicle crash on W. Court St. near Austin Rd. The investigation determined the driver to be Leon Bridges of Brooklyn, WI. The crash resulted in the death of passenger Calvin M. Hanchett, of Janesville, and the serious injury to another passenger Michael D. Asmus of Janesville. The crash caused the ejection of the decedent Calvin Hanchett and the driver Leon Bridges from the vehicle. Mr. Bridges was critically injured and spent several months in rehabilitation. Bridges’ blood alcohol concentration was two times the legal limit at the time of the crash.
On 10-30-17 the Janesville Police Department arrested Leon E. Bridges age 28 of Brooklyn, WI. for the following charges:
1. 940.19(1)(a) Homicide by Intoxicated use of a Motor Vehicle
2. 940.19(1)(b) Homicide by use of a vehicle with a prohibited alcohol concentration
3. 940.25(1)(a) Causing injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle
4. 940.25 (1)(b) Causing injury by use of a vehicle with a prohibited alcohol concentration.
Leon Bridges is scheduled to appear in court on 11-30-17 @ 8:00 AM for the charges.
