Angels Camp Police Investigating Vehicle Thefts

The Angels Camp Police Department has been investigating thefts from vehicles, as well as a burglary from an open garage. In one of the cases the suspect attempted to remove the car stereo, but was unsuccessful. The police department believes that these cases are related, as they occurred in a relatively small geographic area. Save Mart shopping center to Tuolumne Avenue / Alpine Street area.

These are primarily crimes of opportunity, where the vehicles and/or buildings are left open or unlocked, and the suspect can easily gain entry and steal property. Once again the members of the police department are reminding people to ensure that their vehicles and residences are secure and that any valuable property is out of sight.Residents are also reminded to report any suspicious people or activity to the police department as soon as possible.
