The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community. 
October 25th
0640 Hours: Officer Rivas investigated an auto burglary at Comfort Inn, 5977 Mowry Avenue. The loss is miscellaneous tools.
0721 Hours: Officer Ackerman responded to the 36700 block of Magnolia Street for a vehicle theft that had just occurred. A 2008 silver Nissan Altima (CA License #6KBZ961) was momentarily left unoccupied and running on the driveway of the residence. Reserve Officer Holland located the vehicle driving in the area of Cherry Street and Rochelle Avenue. Officer Fredstrom and Reserve Officer Holland attempted to make a traffic enforcement stop but the vehicle failed to yield. Officers did not pursue the vehicle as it fled onto Hwy 84.
1241 Hours: Officer Fredstrom investigated an auto burglary on the 35500 block of Blackburn Drive. Tools were taken from an exterior tool box sometime during the night.
1335 Hours: Officer Heckman investigated an auto burglary on the 35600 block of Sheridan Court. The loss is a laptop computer.
1444 Hours: Officer Fredstrom investigated a hit and run auto accident on Zulmida Avenue at Leone Street.
