REMINDER-Two events tonight. One in Dexter and One in Ypsi. Both on Mental Health & Law enforcement.
EVENT 1: Dexter Community Conversation: Mental Health/ Substance Use Disorder/Opioid Crisis in Washtenaw County from 6-8pm at Mill Creek Middle School.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office is inviting the greater Dexter community (and all those who have not been able to make one of the prior events in the series) to a conversation about the Mental Health/Substance Use Disorder /Opioid Crisis in Washtenaw County. It will be taking place on Thursday, October 26 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Mill Creek Middle School, 7305 Dexter Ann Arbor Rd, Dexter, 48130. Subject matter experts will provide information, people will share stories, but most of the event will involve listening and getting input from community members about how to address this crisis. There will be resource/service providers from Dexter SRSLY Coalition, Community Mental Health, CMHPSM, Washtenaw Alive Suicide Prevention Coalition, Public Health, St. Joes’, U of M, Home of New Vision, etc. available for one-on-one conversations before and after the forum for a ½ hour to 45 minutes. Please attend--too many families are being devastated by this crisis. RSVPs are encouraged but not required, by e-mail to Kathy Wyatt at [email protected] or call 734-973-4613.
EVENT 2: Ypsilanti District Library event - Mental Health Partnerships with the Sheriff's Office at the Ypsilanti District Library, Whittaker Rd. branch from 6-8 pm
The Sheriff’s Office is also collaborating with the Ypsilanti District Library to provide information on how police and community mental health services work together in Washtenaw County. There will be a 40 minute classroom presentation followed by a question and answer period. This discussion will take place at the YDL-Whittaker Branch Community Meeting Room, Whittaker Rd, Ypsilanti, MI 48197. No Registration Needed!
