VICTIM(S): Confidential, 51-year old Victorville resident
SUMMARY:
On October 20, 2017, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to a hit and run collision, involving a vehicle and pedestrian, at the intersection of Starshine Drive and Eugene Road.
The 51-year old, male victim was in the cross-walk at the intersection when he was struck by a 1991 Acura Integra. The driver of the Acura reportedly stopped briefly at the scene before fleeing. When deputies arrived, the victim was lying in the roadway with injuries to his legs. Medical personnel transported him to a local hospital. He was subsequently transferred to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Through information obtained from the victim and witnesses, the vehicle and driver, identified as Angel Torres-Avalos, were located nearby. Torres-Avalos was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for hit and run causing injuries.
