* At 656 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain falling across the warned area. Up to three and half inches of rain has already fallen in a few areas. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

Covington...
and Clifton Forge.
Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches are possible in the
warned area mainly northeast of a line from Union to Christiansburg.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
