Halloween Safety Tips for a safe, fun Halloween Night!
Can you believe Halloween is next week? Lancaster Sheriff's Station would like share a few basic safety precautions brought to you directly from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Before Halloween
1. Choose bright costumes.
2. Plan a trick or treating route in well lit, familiar neighborhoods.
3. Teach children how to cal 9-1-1.
4. Teach children to say "NO" in a loud voice if someone tries to get them to go somewhere or leave with them.
On Halloween Night
1. Make sure older kids stay with a large group of friends if they go trick or treating on their own.
2. Never send little ones out alone.
3. Carry a flashlight and/or add reflective tape to costumes and candy bags.
4. Watch out for tiny goblins and little ghosts when driving.
