A search conducted during a traffic stop leads to the discovery of a loaded firearm in driver's waistband

INCIDENT: Possession of a Dangerous Weapon
LOCATION: Mariposa Road / Bear Valley Road
SUSPECT(S): Christopher Albano, 30-year old Rancho Cucamonga resident
SUMMARY: On October 19, 2017, Deputy A. Arreola, from the Victorville Police Department, conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Mariposa Road and Bear Valley Road.
During the process of identifying the driver, Christopher Albano, Deputy Arreola learned his driver’s license was suspended. Arreola requested he step out of the vehicle. Once out of the vehicle, Albano moved his right hand to the front of his body, toward his waistband. Arreola was able to reach the suspect’s waistband and discovered a loaded firearm, concealed in his pants.
Albano is prohibited from possessing a firearm. He was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center.
