Board of Water Supply crews continue to work on the broken 12-inch main in the Kalanianaole Hwy. medial strip, between Nenue St. and West Hind Dr.
Only 2 lanes of west-bound traffic remain open. Avoid the area if possible or drive with caution passing through. Holy Nativity School, near the break site, has an annual Pumpkin Fest, that will result in additional traffic in that corridor. Meanwhile, the BWS continues to work with State and City agencies to implement traffic mitigation measures.
Two water wagons are available for residents without water service:
- 5233 Kalanianaole Hwy.
- Punahele Pl.
The BWS anticipates its work to go well into Sunday, due to the presence of other underground utilities that are complicating repairs on the main, which was originally installed in 1927.
