Newark Police Seek the Public's Help Locating Newark Man Wanted for Aggravated Assault

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose is seeking the public’s help in locating Derrick Allen, 21, of Newark, who is wanted for an aggravated assault that occurred yesterday.

A 20-year-old woman was robbed and assaulted while walking in the area of Delavan Avenue and Broadway at approximately 11 a.m. The woman arrived at Clara Maas Hospital for treatment and was released.

Detectives developed sufficient evidence to identify Derrick Allen as the suspect in this incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges of Aggravated Assault and Terroristic Threats.

While police are actively searching for Allen, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating him and removing him from our streets. The investigation is continuing.
