***Second Update*** Flagg Creek Water Reclamation Dist. experiencing "smell of gasoline" in sanitary sewers.

We have been monitoring reports of the smell of gasoline coming from the sanitary sewers in Willowbrook and Burr Ridge.
There has been one confirmed explosion in Willowbrook possibly related to these reports. The sewer line in question follows an east/west path through Willowbrook and Burr Ridge approximately along 63rd Street, past County Line Road, before moving south to the water treatment facility.

Residents are urged to leave their homes and call 9-1-1 immediately if they smell gasoline within or around their homes.

Homes and businesses with sanitary sewers in the Flagg Creek Water Reclamation District may be experiencing a smell of gasoline. 

These locations are generally west of County Line Road and north if I-55.  The Pleasantview Fire Department, Villages of Willowbrook and Burr Ridge, Flagg Creek WRD, and the IEPA are aware of the problem. 

If this smell is affecting your home or business, you are encouraged to run water through sinks, tubs, and floor drains, then notify Flagg Creek Water Reclamation District at 630-323-3299.


Leave your home and call 9-1-1 immediately if you smell gasoline within or around your home.
