ROBBERIES
On Monday, Oct. 9th, around 10:30 a.m., Police Officer Trainee Truong and Ofc. Paul were dispatched to a Union Landing business on the report of a theft. A suspect entered the store, stole several electronics, and challenged employees while simulating a weapon in his waistband. It was determined that the same suspect committed similar robberies in stores across the Bay Area. The 21-year-old Oakland resident was identified and arrested by another agency, and admitted to committing the crimes in Union City and other locations.

On Tuesday, Oct. 10th, around 12:20 p.m., Ofc. Moreno was dispatched to the report of an armed robbery that had occurred in the 1600 block of Decoto Rd. about an hour earlier. The victim said he felt something solid touch his back, and heard someone demand all his belongings. He put his backpack, wallet and phone on the ground, and left the area without looking back at the suspect.

On Thursday, Oct. 12th, around 10:15 a.m., officers were dispatched to Union Square on the report of a robbery. A suspect asked the victim for $2, then suddenly pulled the purse off her shoulder and fled on foot. The suspect was described as a black male in his 20s, about 5’10” to 6’0” and 160-170 lbs.

VEHICLE THEFT ARREST
On Monday, Oct. 9th, around 5:30 p.m., Ofc. Olson located a vehicle that was determined to be an unreported stolen vehicle out of Union City. Ricardo Velazquez, a 30-year-old Union City resident, was arrested for vehicle theft, the possession of burglary tools, and felon in possession of pepper spray.

ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON
On Thursday, Oct. 12th, around 6:20 a.m., two victims said a suspect purposely hit their vehicle in the area of H St. and Alvarado Niles Rd. The suspect was described as a Hispanic female, around 25-35 years old, with black hair. She was driving a newer model gray Kia Soul.

On Thursday, Oct. 12th, around 2:30 p.m., Ofc. Llamas was dispatched to the 34600 block of Alvarado Niles Rd. on the report of a fight, which turned into an assault with a deadly weapon. During a physical confrontation with a group of subjects, a 16-year-old male began swinging a metal stick at a victim. He was arrested.  

BURGLARIES AND CAR THEFTS

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
From Monday, Oct. 9th through Sunday, Oct. 15th, there were three reported residential burglaries:
• 31300 block of Santa Fe Way: Occurred on Friday, Oct. 13th, between 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. The rear sliding glass door was pried open; the loss is unknown at this time.
• 3100 block of San Angelo Way: Occurred sometime between Thursday, Oct. 12th and Sunday, Oct. 15th. The method of entry is unknown, and the loss included medication and jewelry.
• 3200 block of San Carlos Way: Occurred sometime between Monday, Oct. 9th and Sunday, Oct. 15th. The rear sliding glass door was smashed, but there does not appear to be any loss.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARIES
From Monday, Oct. 9th through Sunday, Oct. 15th, there were no reported commercial burglaries.

AUTO BURGLARIES AND VEHICLE THEFTS
From Monday, Oct. 9th through Sunday, Oct. 15th, there were 13 reported auto burglaries. Eight of the burglaries occurred at the Union Landing shopping center, three were in other shopping centers, and two were in residential areas. Many of the burglaries involved backpacks, purses and electronics that were left in plain view on the seats or floorboards.

From Monday, Oct. 9th through Sunday, Oct. 15th, there were eight reported vehicle thefts. As of the time of this report, three of the vehicles have been recovered.
