Lawrence Township News for the Upcoming Week

Flu Shots This Monday

The first of three flu clinics provided by Lawrence Township Health Department is scheduled for Monday, October 23.   If you cannot make this date, there are two more scheduled clinics, October 27 and November 6, 2017.  Please see flyer for all the details.


TRUNK OR TREAT

Lawrence Township Police Department is sponsoring Trunk or Treat on October 26th at 6:00 p.m. at the Lawrence High School Parking Lot. There is still time to participate and register to decorate your vehicle and be part of the fun!


Hurricane Relief Donations - Donations are being collected between October 13 and October 27, 2017, sponsored by the offices of Sen.Shirley K. Turner, Asm. Reed Gusciora and Asw. Elizabeth Maher Muoio in partnership with the Municipalities of NJ 15th Legislative District, Puerto Rican Parade of Trenton and Governor's Office of Volunteerism. Sewer Bills Due Wednesday

Sewer Bills are due in the Tax Collector's Office by 4:30 p.m. on October 25, 2017, with no further grace period.



Veterans Day Observance Ceremony - Come out to honor our veterans on November 4th at 10:00 a.m. at American Legion Post 414. See flyer for details.



Register Now For Youth Basketball

October Is Last Month To Put Out Brush and Branches!

October is the last month to put out your brush and branches for pick-up.  Beginning in November all brush and branch collection will be suspended until January.   Residents should only place loose leaves at the curb for pick-up during this time period.



Have You Licensed Your Cat Yet?

September is over and all cats should be registered by now.  If you have not license your cat, please stop in to the Municipal Clerk's Office to take care of this.  All cats 7 months and older must be licensed. For your convenience click here for the cat application for licensing your cat. If you have questions or need additional information about cat licenses, please call the Clerk's Office at 609-844-7000.



Road Work
 

  • Keefe Road - Mercer County will begin bridge repair work on Keefe Road on or about Monday, November 6. Please click here for further information.
  • The Route #1 construction project is moving along.   The circle is now open at Route #1 and Whitehead Road.  The construction project is still ongoing - please continue to use caution in this area.
  • NJDOT Project on Route 206: Route 206 continues to be closed in both directions.



Brush and Branch Collection

  • The week of October 23 is Zone 4 for brush and branch collection.  If you are not in Zone 4, please be courteous and  DO NOT place brush in the roadway - you must wait until your designated week. 
  • DO NOT PUT GRASS CLIPPINGS IN THE ROADWAY. Grass clippings must be disposed of as regular solid waste.  Your clippings must be bagged and placed in your blue cart.  They may not be disposed of in plastic bags and left at the edge of the road or in containers other than the blue Township carts. 
  • Yard waste and vegetative materials shall not be placed in an area of the street greater than four (4) feet in height. All branches shall be no greater than 5 feet in length.
  • Tree limbs larger than 8 inches in diameter may not be disposed of through curbside collection.
  • Stumps, dirt, grass, sod, pressure treated wood, stones, plywood, and construction material will not be collected.
  • Yard waste shall not be placed within 10 feet from the nearest storm drain outlet.

2017 Reduced Cost for Curbside Organic Collection Program!

The 2017 cost to participate in this program has been reduced to $12.00 per month (will increase to $17.00 again in 2018) for all participants in the Curbside Organic Collection Program. For details and information on how to sign up, please click here.
