Accidental Shooting
 
Today, October 18^th at 1:58 p.m., officers of the Jackson Police Department were conducting Quarterly Firearms Training at 226 Cotton Grove Road, Fraternal Order of Police Range, when one of their firearms instructors was accidentally shot by another officer of the Jackson Police Department.

Officers at the scene immediately conducted First Aid until Emergency Medical Personnel were able to arrive on the scene.  The firearms instructor was transported to the Med in Memphis and is currently in stable condition.

Per the department’s policy, an Administrative Shoot Team Investigation is being conducted. 

Chief Wiser and the officers of the Jackson Police Department are asking the community to pray on behalf of both officers.


Update: The Jackson Police Department’s Firearms Instructor has been treated and released. Please continue to pray for both officers and their families.
