Deputies arrest an Adelanto man for being in possession of a loaded firearm

INCIDENT: Felon in Possession of a Firearm
LOCATION: Starshine Drive / Pluto Drive
SUSPECT: Devion Earl Barris, 30-year old Adelanto resident
SUMMARY:
On October 17, 2017, Deputy N. Craig and Deputy D. Medina conducted a traffic stop on Starshine Drive, near Pluto Drive.
Upon approaching the vehicle to speak with the driver, deputies observed a bag containing marijuana on the front passenger seat of the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle a loaded handgun was located. The driver, identified as Devion Earl Barris, was found to have a previous felony conviction and was prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Barris was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for felon in possession of a firearm.
