Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that police are seeking the public’s help in identifying three male suspects in connection with a mini-market robbery that occurred last night.

At approximately 9:35 p.m., officers responded to Robert Mini-Market, located at 336 Hawthorne Avenue, on a robbery call. Two black males, armed with handguns, entered the store and took money from the cash register.

Both suspects are described as approximately 6-feet tall. The first was wearing army fatigue pants, a black hooded sweatshirt, a black jacket with white lettering and black and red sneakers. The second suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black leather jacket and black sneakers.

While police are actively searching for these suspects, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing them from our streets. This investigation is active and ongoing.

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
