Novato Fire and Police seek your help in identifying the person/persons responsible for the wildfire near 7th/Carmel. 
The Novato Fire Protection District is requesting the public's assistance in identifying the person or persons responsible for the vegetation fire that occurred on October 14, 2017 at approximately 3:00 PM in the area of Seventh St. and Carmel Dr.
The wildfire burned about 3 acres on Sunday on a hill near downtown Novato, threatening a cluster of homes on a windy, dry afternoon. The fire is suspicious in nature, and all accidental causes have been ruled out.
Authorities closed several streets in the area and evacuated homes on Carmel Court. Novato firefighters tackled the flames along with state air crews, and the fire was declared under control in about an hour
