OFFICERS INVOLVED: Police Officers Ryan Krug Dean Schoch and Glennis Polanco

ACCUSED: Stella A. Johnson 36-year-old Female // Asbury Park, NJ

NARRATIVE:
On October 16th, 2017 at approximately 5:35pm police responded to the Applebee’s Restaurant located at 2301 State Highway 66 for a report of an intoxicated female acting disorderly. The accused later identified as Stella Johnson arrived at the restaurant with three young children and appeared to be intoxicated. The staff recognized Johnson as a former employee who immediately got into a verbal argument with someone inside. The staff was able to remove her from the restaurant prior to police arrival.

Further investigation revealed that Johnson continued to act disorderly and was placed under arrest. During the arrest Johnson kicked Officer Polanco prior to being secured in the police car. Her three children, all under the age of eight were turned over to a family member. It was also learned that Johnson drove to the restaurant with the children while intoxicated. Johnson was charged with Endangering the Welfare of Children, Assault on a Police Officer, Disorderly Conducted and Driving While Intoxicated. She was transported to the county jail pending a future court appearance.
