Advisory

Portions of Larkfield and Wikiup now open

October 15, 2017
5:50 p.m.

Welcome Home! The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office is lifting all evacuation orders in the following areas.  If you live in these areas, you can return home now.  You do not need to check in with anyone and you do not need a law enforcement escort.  There will be more law enforcement personnel in your neighborhood to keep you safe.  To access your neighborhood, take 101 north to the Airport Blvd. off-ramp.  Mark West Springs Road is still closed at the off-ramp.

Wikiup and the area to the north, and east of Old Redwood Highway, including Faught Road, are now open to the public, except for the following closed areas:

  • Vista Grande Drive, all residences west of 5339 Vista Grande Drive have access. No access to the east of 5339 Vista Grande Drive.
  • Wikiup Drive at Wikiup Court.  No access to the east of that intersection.
  • Wikiup Drive, all residences to the west of 889 Wikiup Drive. No access to the east of 889 Wikiup Drive, including Knollwood Court.
  • Carriage Lane, east of Carriage Court. No access to the east of that intersection on Carriage Lane.

Larkfield: The area north of the Larkfield Shopping Center that is outside the burned area as defined by the road closures listed below.
  • Londonberry Drive at the intersection, east of Hatona Drive. No access to the south of that intersection.
  • Lambert Drive, east of Hatona Drive. No access to the south of that intersection.
  • Pacific Heights Drive, east of Old Redwood Highway. No access on Pacific Heights Drive.

The County is attempting to resume regular garbage service in this area as soon as possible, hopefully in the next few days.

There could still be smoke in the respective areas as firefighters continue firefighting operations. If at any time you feel unsafe, please call 911. The public is reminded to stay vigilant on current fire conditions. Please continue to adhere to road closures and any evacuation warnings. If you see electrical wires on the ground, stay clear and contact PG&E immediately. Trees and poles with deep charring, particularly if still smoking, should be considered hazardous. Please drive slowly and yield to emergency personnel in the area. As you re-enter your property and evaluate damage, be aware that hazardous conditions may exist, particularly if a residence or out-building has burned. Hazards may include asbestos, heavy metals, by-products of plastic combustion, and various other chemicals.

All other mandatory evacuation areas are still closed.  We will send an alert for each area as it re-opens.  If you have any questions, call the Sonoma County hotline at 707-565-3856.
