On October 15, 2017, at 4:29 a.m. Deputy U.B. Smith stopped a Red 2006 Chevy Silverado on Walnut Street in Fort Branch for driving left of center. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Smith detected the odor of alcohol coming from the driver 32 year old Scott Williams of Fort Branch, Indiana. At that point Deputy Smith began a roadside investigation which resulted in Mr. Williams being taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated /Prior (DUI/Prior). He remains in custody on a $750 bond.
