...A strong cold front will move through North and Central TX early this Sunday morning, ushering in cooler and very windy conditions with gusty north-northwest winds in wake of the cold front. ...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM CDT THIS MORNING... The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect until 11 AM CDT this morning.

* TIMING...2 AM to 11 AM Sunday.

* WINDS...Sustained wind speeds of 25 to 30 MPH with gusts to 35 to 40 MPH.

* IMPACTS...Very strong and gusty crosswinds on especially east to west oriented roads and highways will make driving difficult for light-weight and high-profile vehicles. In addition, open waters on area rivers and lakes will become very choppy and hazardous to boaters or those recreationing on the water.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BOSQUE ... COLLIN ... COMANCHE ... DALLAS ... ELLIS ... ERATH ... FANNIN ... HAMILTON ... HILL ... HOOD ... HUNT ... JOHNSON ... KAUFMAN ... MILLS ... NAVARRO ... ROCKWALL ... SOMERVELL ... TARRANT

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of at least 20 to 30 mph with gusts in excess of 35 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high profile vehicles. Boaters should use extra caution when venturing onto area lakes. Residents may wish to take action to secure trash cans...lawn furniture...and other lightweight outdoor objects that may be blown around in the strong winds.
