“See Something, Say Something!” Helps Catch Two More Suspected Criminals in One Day
ESPD encourages the public to call us when they see something suspicious or “just doesn’t look right.” We had two more cases where alert citizens were not afraid to call us and it helped nab two suspected criminals.
On October 7, 2017 at approximately 9:11 am, officers responded to the area of Holly Ave/Kansas St regarding a suspicious man looking into a parked car. Officers spoke to the man and the investigation revealed inconsistent statements from him as well as suspected stolen property in his pockets. Some of the property included two cell phones and multiple phone chargers. A parked car nearby also appeared to have been ransacked. Based upon additional information and the totality of the circumstances, Carlos Campos (46 years old from Inglewood), was arrested on the suspicion of burglary.
On Oct 7, 2017 at 3:36 pm, officers received the call of a man spray painting a bus bench near Imperial Ave / Eucalyptus Dr. Officers spoke with Norberto Osorio-Roman and discovered he had multiple cans of spray paint that matched the paint that had been sprayed on a bus bench and nearby trash receptacle. Osorio-Roman (23 years old from Los Angeles) was arrested on the suspicion of committing felony vandalism.
Both of these arrests were made possible because an alert person saw something suspicious and quickly called ESPD. We’d like to thank our witnesses for helping us catch these suspected criminals!
