Detectives arrest Shane Steffey for child molestation

INCIDENT: Child Molestation
LOCATION: 400 Block of La Mesa Street, Needles, CA
SUSPECT: Shane Steffey, 18 years old, resident of Needles, CA
VICTIM: Confidential – 10-year-old female
SUMMARY:
Over the summer months of 2017, the suspect, Shane Steffey entered into what was described as a dating relationship with the 10 year old victim. Family and friends of the victim became suspicous of the relationship and notified law enforcement. Deputies and detectives from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department began their investigation.
On October 11, 2017, at 3:00 p.m., Steffey was contacted, interviewed and subsequently arrest for PC 288(a) Lewd and Lascivious Acts Upon a Child. Steffey was booked at the Needles jail on $250,000.00 bail.
