The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

October 11th

0928 Hours: Officer Fredstrom contacted and arrested a 55 year old Newark male for possessing a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and for three outstanding warrants during a probation search on the 5800 block of Ravenswood Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

0958 Hours: Officer Wallace investigated an auto burglary on the 5400 block of Saint Mark Avenue. The loss is a stereo.

1118 Hours: Officer Ackerman contacted and arrested a 42 year old Newark female for possessing burglary tools on the 37200 block of Walnut Street. The suspect was issued a citation and released at the scene.

1150 Hours: Officer D. Johnson investigated a hit and run accident on the 6200 block of Montcalm Avenue.

1240 Hours: Officer Fredstrom contacted and arrested a 26 year old Union City male for an outstanding warrant on Stevenson Boulevard at 880. The suspect was issued a citation and released at the scene.

1517 Hours: Officer Horst investigated an auto burglary on the 35200 block of Newark Boulevard. The loss is a purse.

1605 Hours: Officer Fredstom responded to Macy’s, NewPark Mall for a shoplifter in custody. Officer Fredstrom arrested a 24 year old Hayward male for burglary. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

1820 Hours: Officer Mapes contacted and arrested a 36 year old San Jose male for his outstanding warrants during a traffic stop on Central Avenue. The suspect was issued a citation and released at the scene.

2208 Hours: Officer Mapes contacted and arrested a 29 year old Newark female for her outstanding warrants on Albrae Street. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
