Smoke from the wildfires in the North Bay is causing unhealthy air quality

Smoke from the wildfires in the North Bay is causing unhealthy air quality. Due to active wildfires and changing wind patterns, air quality could be impacted over the next several days.

Follow these tips for safety:

Avoid outdoor activity, including exercise and outdoor sports.

If possible, stay indoors with windows and doors closed. If air conditioning is necessary, turn units on recirculate to avoid drawing outside air into buildings.

Avoid air pollution activities including wood burning, lawn mowing and leaf blowing, driving, and barbecuing.

Stay tuned to local media for changes in smoke or weather conditions.

This smoke is not a result of a local Redwood City Fire. Residents should call 911 if you see fire in your area, believe the smoke smell is from a local source, or believe you are in any danger.
