POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY
On Tuesday, Oct. 3rd, around 5:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Almaden Blvd. for the report of a suspicious circumstance. The victim had stated that two suspects were in her backyard. Two subjects were located in the area who matched the suspect descriptions. Probation searches yielded a laptop, in addition to a passport and credit/debit cards that were stolen in a vehicle burglary in Hayward the previous night. Paul McHenry, a 39-year-old Union City resident, was arrested for the possession of stolen property, trespassing, and various drug-related offenses. Stephanie Lamb, a 34-year-old Union City resident, was arrested for trespassing, the misappropriation of found property, and various drug-related offenses.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY
On Wednesday, Oct. 4th, around 8:40 p.m., Ofc. Willson was dispatched to the 1700 block of Decoto Rd. on the report of a robbery attempt. The victim said a suspect followed him on foot into the Marketplace shopping center, hit him in the face, and reached for the victim’s pockets in an attempt to rob him. After a brief struggle, the suspect fled on foot without any of the victim’s property. The suspect was described as a black male, about 5’8” with a medium build.
VEHICLE THEFT ARRESTS
On Wednesday, Oct. 4th, around 11:30 p.m., Ofc. Bedford was dispatched to the 100 block of Aurora Plaza for the report of a suspicious vehicle, which was reported stolen out of Alameda County. A large amount of stolen mail and other possible stolen property was located inside the vehicle. A witness said he observed three subjects abandon the vehicle and flee on foot. Ofc. Moya located and detained the suspects nearby. Hayward residents Elizabeth Valadez, 29; Daniel Abernathy, 27; and Daniel Silva, 25, were arrested for vehicle theft and the possession of stolen property.
PIMPING
On Saturday, Oct. 7th, around 1:15 p.m., Ofc. Stables was dispatched to the 400 block of E St. on the report that someone was attacking a victim and trying to take her car. After speaking to both subjects, Richard Doss, a 21-year-old Union City resident, was ultimately arrested for pimping, battery, vandalism, and resisting arrest.
WEAPONS ARREST
On Saturday, Oct. 7th, around 9:50 p.m., Ofc. Jensen conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Ascot Way and Almaden Blvd. A search of the trunk yielded a concealed, loaded handgun, in addition to illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia. Richard Ortega, a 55-year-old Oakland resident, was arrested for multiple drug-related and firearms offenses.

BURGLARIES AND CAR THEFTS
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
From Monday, Oct. 2nd through Sunday, Oct. 8th, there were no reported residential burglaries.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARIES
From Monday, Oct. 2nd through Sunday, Oct. 8th, there were three reported commercial burglaries:
• 30800 block of Dyer St.: Occurred on Tuesday, Oct. 3rd, around 1:30 a.m. The glass door was smashed with a rock, and the loss is unknown at this time.
• 32000 block of Alvarado Blvd.: Occurred between Friday, Oct. 6th at 7:20 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 7th at 5:30 a.m. The front glass door was smashed, but there was no apparent loss.
• 31800 block of Alvarado Blvd.: Occurred on Saturday, Oct. 7th, around 5 a.m. A window was smashed, and the loss included the cash register drawer with currency. The suspect was captured on surveillance video and appeared to be a white or Hispanic male, about 40 years old, 5’6” tall with a thin build, medium-length dark hair, and with a fair complexion.
AUTO BURGLARIES AND VEHICLE THEFTS
From Monday, Oct. 2nd through Sunday, Oct. 8th, there were six reported auto burglaries. Four of the burglaries occurred at the Union Landing shopping center, and two were in residential areas. One of the suspect vehicles was described as a black, 2005-2007 Honda two-door with paper dealer plates.

From Monday, Oct. 2nd through Sunday, Oct. 8th, there were six reported vehicle thefts. As of the time of this report, three of the vehicles have been recovered.
