Jaysielene Tuli Ah Sam cited for making false police report; child endangerment investigation

The preliminary investigation has found that the wife of the driver and mother of the child made false statements.
On 10/9/17 at 3:24 p.m., Dispatch received a report about a domestic situation involving a wife and her husband in the area of North Lane Street and Mountain View Drive. When officers arrived, the wife accused her husband of taking their daughter. She told officers she believed her daughter’s life was in danger because her husband was threatening suicide with a knife. Dispatch received a call from a Nixle subscriber who spotted the Pathfinder in the area of Arctic Blvd and 46th Avenue. Officers located the vehicle in the 4600 block of Bering Street along with the husband and child. After getting the husband’s account, officers followed up with the wife who admitted to making false statements. She was taken into custody and cited.
She’s been identified as Jaysielene Tuli Ah Sam (27-years-old). She was cited for False Report of a Crime and Reckless Endangerment.
Abusing and taking advantage of 911 is wrong. Our Dispatch team, our officers, the media and the public took immediate steps to help locate a child who we believed was in danger. Thank you to all. The power of 911 should never be abused.
Update 10/10/17:
The vehicle and the child have been located in the 4600 block of Bering Street.
The child is unharmed.
The driver is in custody and being questioned.
Thank you to the Nixle subscriber who got the text, spotted the vehicle and immediately called 911. This person helped save a child's life.
Public helped needed in locating a black 2014 Nissan Pathfinder with Alaska license plate GTS-408.
Adult male driver threatening suicide with child inside. Officers believe the driver is the father and the child is in danger of being harmed.
