Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing to assist Pasadena Police Department personnel investigate the circumstances surrounding an officer involved shooting that occurred October 6th, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at the 700 Block of Encanto Parkway in the City of Duarte. The U.S. Marshals Task Force, which included officers from the Pasadena Police Department, Glendale Police Department and California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation were involved in the officer involved shooting.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are responding to the 700 block of Encanto Parkway, Duarte, to assist Pasadena Police Department with an officer involved shooting investigation.
The suspect was struck by gunfire and transported to a local hospital in an unknown condition.
No officers were injured during the incident.
There is no further information at this time and the investigation is on-going.

*2nd UPDATE* #LASD Homicide Detectives Recover Handgun, at Officer Involved Shooting, 700 blk Encanto Pkwy, Duarte
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing to assist Pasadena Police Department personnel investigate the circumstances surrounding an officer involved shooting that occurred October 6th, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at the 700 Block of Encanto Parkway in the City of Duarte. The U.S. Marshals Task Force, which included officers from the Pasadena Police Department, Glendale Police Department and California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation were involved in the officer involved shooting.
Detectives have processed the scene located at the 700 Block of Encanto Parkway in the City of Duarte. A handgun was recovered from inside the suspect’s vehicle. The handgun was collected as evidence and will be processed by the crime lab.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing to assist Pasadena Police Department personnel investigate the circumstances surrounding an officer involved shooting that occurred today at 1:00 P.M. at the 700 Block of Encanto Parkway in the City of Duarte.
Detectives have learned the U.S. Marshals Task Force which included Pasadena Police Department, Glendale Police Department and California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation personnel were actively searching for a suspect who was wanted for an attempted murder with a firearm. The attempted murder occurred on October 5th 2017, in the City of Pasadena. The suspect was on parole and considered armed and dangerous.
On October 6, 2017, at approximately 1 P.M., U.S. Marshals Task Force located the suspect who was seated inside a vehicle, along with a female occupant. Upon making contact with the two occupants in the vehicle an officer involved shooting occurred.
The suspect was a male Hispanic, 28 years of age, was struck at least one time in the body by gunfire. He was airlifted to a local hospital. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The female occupant is described as a female White, 36 years of age, was also struck at least one time in the body by gunfire. She was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive. The female was in possession of narcotics and arrested for the charge.
Four officers were involved in the officer involved shooting, one officer is employed with California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, two from Pasadena Police Department and one from Glendale Police Department. One officer sustained injuries during the incident. The officer was transported to a local hospital, treated for minor injuries and released.
The suspect’s vehicle is currently being searched and processed by the crime lab. The investigation is currently ongoing. There is no additional information available at this time.
