10/02 - 9:00 a.m. - Police responded to a subject creating a verbal disturbance in public, on East White Street, near Jefferson Avenue. The subject was gone upon the officer's arrival however, a short time later they observed him driving south on S. Jefferson. Due to the earlier disturbance, officers waited for assistance from the Smithton Police Department, before conducting a traffic stop, in the 5200 block of Douglas Road. The subject, Khristopher L. Schmith age 43 of New Athens, was charged with Driving While Revoked, Operation Uninsured Vehicle & Unlawful Possession of Cannabis.
