SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 3:00 a.m., Highland deputies observed a suspicious vehicle driving slowly through East Highland neighborhoods. The vehicle had two different paper plates and was stopped near Baseline and Church Street. A search of the vehicle located a crow bar, screwdriver and flashlight, which are commonly used to pry open mailboxes or break into vehicles. There was a stolen laptop in a backpack, and several pieces of stolen mail. While conducting the traffic stop, East Highlands Ranch Security notified deputies that two community mailboxes had just been broken into on Henderson and Bacon Lanes. Some of the mail stolen from these mailboxes has not been recovered, and was possibly discarded nearby.
Anyone finding any mail, or who may have surveillance video, is asked to please contact the Highland Police Department. Callers can remain anonymous and contact WeTip at 800-78CRIME or www.wetip.com
