Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Detectives arrest Petaluma man for child porn charges.
The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigations Unit has been actively working to catch an offender committing sex crimes. On September 21, 2017, Detectives from the Investigations Bureau completed a two month long child pornography investigation, culminating in an arrest for possession and distribution of child pornography.
Possessing, viewing or sharing child pornography, is a felony offense under State law. The Detectives discovered a person sharing child pornography via the internet. They served a Search Warrant on September 21, 2017 at a residence on English St. in Petaluma.
At the residence, Detectives seized multiple computers, digital media and external hard drives. The sole occupant of the residence, Jory Rock, age 28, was detained and later interviewed. Detectives conducted a forensic examination of Rocks' computer and discovered multiple images and videos depicting child pornography. Rock was arrested at his residence without incident for possession of obscene matter involving minors / child pornography. Additional charges may be forthcoming as further forensic examination of the evidence is conducted. Rock was booked into the Sonoma County Jail and bail was set at $30,000.
