Emeryville Police Department Investigation of the Officer Involved Shooting on I-80
Press Release: Emeryville PD, Investigation of the Officer Involved Shooting on I-80, Update
On 9/27/17 at around 8:40 AM, Fairfield PD detectives were attempting to apprehend a homicide suspect. During the event, the suspect failed to yield to the arrest and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit concluded in Emeryville where the suspect shot at officers from Fairfield Police Department and the Richmond Police Department who were involved int he vehicle pursuit. The officers from those agencies shot and struck the suspect. The suspect succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The suspects name is Demilo Trayuon Hodge, a 45-year-old San Leandro resident. The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office and the Emeryville Police Department worked throughout the night investigating this incident. This investigation will continue for at least several weeks as investigators go through witness statements, review video evidence, and process physical evidence. After the investigation, the Emeryville Police Department will turn the report over to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office for review.
