The Upper Macungie Township Police Department is again hosting its Community Police Academy. This is a community event that offers our citizens an opportunity to learn more about your local law enforcement and the roles those involved play. The course is offered free of cost to participants.

This year's course is scheduled for:
1. Saturday, 10/14/2017 from 10:00 am-12:00 noon
2. Saturday, 10/21/2017 from 10:00 am-12:00 noon
3. Saturday, 10/28/2017 from 10:00 am-12:00 noon
4. Saturday, 11/11/2017 from 10:00 am- 12:00 noon

Note-No class to be held on 11/04/2017.


Slated presenters this year are: UMTPD's K-9 unit, Lehigh County Drug Task Force, Lehigh County Coroner's Office, Lehigh County Municipal Emergency Response Team, tour of the Lehigh County Jail and the Lehigh County Auto Theft Task Force.

The class is limited to (30) adult participants and Upper Macungie Township residents shall be granted first priority seating.

Please note-only (20) participants will be afforded the opportunity to tour the Lehigh County Jail and there will be no alternate class/event for the remaining (10) classmates.

Also note-all applicants will be subject to a background check (open source documents), which will be considered in eligibility to participate.

Completed applications are due NO later than, Friday, September 29, 2017 at 12:00 noon. All applicants shall be notified if they are selected to participate.
