The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community. 
September 25th
0940 Hours: Officer Taylor investigated the theft of a utility dump trailer on the 5500 block of Central Avenue.
1412 Hours: Officer Taylor investigated the theft of a wallet from an unlocked vehicle at NewPark Mall. The theft occurred through an open window while the victim was getting items out of the trunk of the vehicle.
1659 Hours: Officer Musantry contacted and arrested a 59 year old Newark male for his outstanding warrants on Jarvis Avenue at Cardiff Street. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
1904 Hours: Officer Rivera documented a hit & run traffic collision that occurred in the parking lot of Nijo Castle, 39888 Balentine Drive.
2101 Hours: Officer Cervantes investigated an auto-burglary in the Nijo Castle parking lot, 39888 Balentine Drive. The loss was a backpack containing a laptop computer.
