Sergeant Castro recognized by Hanford Chamber of Commerce for Public Safety Appreciation

Sergeant Pedro Castro Jr. graduated from Dinuba High School in 1990. He attended Fresno City College and Reedley College where he received his Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice in 1994. In 1995 Sergeant Castro began his law enforcement career with the Corcoran Police Department where he has served the community for 22 years. He promoted to police corporal in 1999 and sergeant in 2002. Sergeant Castro serves as the Field Training Program Coordinator for the department and has been a Field Training Officer for sixteen years. He has also served as the Detective Unit Sergeant for the department. Sergeant Castro has been the advisor for the Corcoran Police Explorer Program for the last 2 ½ years and enjoys his interaction with the local youth who have future career goals in law enforcement. Sgt. Castro has had a significant, positive impact on the lives of numerous youth that have been a part of the Corcoran Police Department Explorer Program. Sgt. Castro was recognized Friday, September 22nd at the Hanford Chamber Public Safety Appreciation Luncheon for his dedication and commitment to the youth of Corcoran.
