Detectives are asking for the public's help to locate a suspect who shot a woman inside her home early this morning

INCIDENT: Attempted Murder Investigation
LOCATION: 7100 Block of San Carmela Court, Rancho Cucamonga
SUSPECT: Black male adult, approximately 5’8’’, thin build, with a dark scarf over his face
SUMMARY:
On Saturday, September 23, 2017, at 4:07 am, deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department, responded to the 7100 block of San Carmela Court regarding a report of a shooting inside a residence. Deputies arrived and contacted the 71-year-old victim inside her residence. The victim had a gunshot wound to her upper chest but was conscious, alert and breathing. The victim told deputies she was awoken by the sound of shattered glass. When she examined the cause, she was confronted by an intruder described as a black male adult, approximately 5'8'', thin build with a dark scarf over his face. The suspect fired one round at the victim striking her in the chest. The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is currently in stable condition.
Rancho Cucamonga Police Department detectives are the lead investigators in this case and are processing the victims home and surrounding neighborhoods for additional leads.
