Advisory

Multiple events this weekend may cause traffic delays and congestion in Downtown Manchester

The Manchester Police Department would like to advise you of three events this weekend, on September 23, 2017 and September 24, 2017, that may cause traffic delays and increase traffic congestion.

The First event is the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk that will begin at the Arms Park on Saturday at 10:00 AM. The walk will exit the park via Stark St and head south on Commercial St to Granite St. It will then travel east on Granite St to Elm St and then north on Elm. The "short walk" then returns to Arms Park via Spring St and the "long walk" continues on to Webster St where it turns west toward River Rd. The walk then heads south on River Rd and turns onto Commercial St, leading back to Arms Park. Although the course is considered "open" to traffic there will be several road crossings that could cause delays for motorists and drivers in this area are urged to use caution if they encounter walkers.

The Second event is the WZID Art Jam Bridge Fest, which will be held on the Bridge St Bridge. The eastbound span of the Bridge St Bridge St will be closed from 5:30AM until 5:30PM Saturday, September 23, 2017 for this event.

The Third event is the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's (JDRF) Walk to Cure Diabetes which will start at the Delta Dental Stadium on S Commercial St. The walk begins Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 10:00 AM and will travel north on S Commercial St to Granite St, turning east on Granite St to Elm St. The walk will then turn north on Elm St and continue to Brook St, where it will turn west onto Brook St. The walk then crosses Canal St to Commercial St and follows Commercial St back to Delta Dental Stadium. Although the course is considered "open" to traffic there will be several road crossing that could cause delays for motorists and drivers in this area are urged to use caution if they encounter walkers. Have a great weekend and please drive safely.
