The following part one crimes were reported for this period.      
9-14-17
Theft- 28000 block of Witherspoon Parkway. 
The victim reported an $11,000 pipe threading machine stolen from the location.  The machine was left inside the outdoor trash bin area.  The crime occurred during the early morning hours. 
9-15-17
Theft- 28000 block of Avenue Penn.
 The victim reported $28,000 worth of metal airplane parts stolen from the location.  The items were stored in the parking lot of the business and left unsecured.  The crime occurred in the evening hours.
9-16-17
GTA- 30000 Arlington Avenue.
The victim reported their white utility box trailer (CA Lic#4PB9850) Stolen from their residence in the early morning hours. The victim saw the vehicle in the area and called the sheriff station.  The vehicle was taken a second time prior to deputies arrival. 
 
Community Safety; We have received numerous complaints about speeding cars on Hillcrest during schools hours.  Please reduce your speed when kids are present, obey crossing guards and help keep our kids safe.      
 
Remember, in any community, the citizens are the first set of eyes and ears for 1^st responders.  It is the community who knows what “does” and “doesn’t” look right.  It is you, the local citizens, who can tell who “does” and “doesn’t” belong in the area.  If you see any suspicious activity, something that doesn’t look “right”, please call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at (661) 255-1121 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.
Please be aware that many of the thefts we have seen in the past have been “Crimes of Opportunity”.  Never leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle, close and lock your doors.  Minimize your risk of becoming a victim.
