Newark Fire Division Responds to New Jersey Transit To Rescue Person Struck By Train
Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that members of the Newark Fire Division responded to New Jersey Transit train tracks, west of Broad Street, in response to reports of a person struck by a train today.
At approximately 6:10 a.m., NFD members arrived to assist in rescuing the victim, who was pinned between the train and a retaining wall at the location. The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment.
The investigation is being conducted by the New Jersey Transit Police.
