The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

September 20th

0745 Hours: Officer Musantry responded to a disturbance on the 6500 block of Normandy Drive. Officer Musantry contacted and arrested a 32 year old Newark female for possessing stolen property, credit card theft, possessing identification with the intent to defraud and for violating the terms of her probation. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

0800 Hours: Officer Wallace investigated a residential burglary on the 5600 block of Pandorea Terrace.

1146 Hours: Officer Herbert responded to a disturbance on Robertson Avenue near Cedar Boulevard. A 31 year old transient male was arrested for violating the terms of his probation and subsequently booked into the Fremont Jail.

1833 Hours: Officer Cervantes investigated the theft of a green 1996 Toyota Corolla (CA License #3PIC557) on the 6200 block of Joaquin Murieta Avenue.

2028 Hours: Sergeant Hoppe documented a hit & run traffic collision involving a street sign on Newark Boulevard.

2135 Hours: A Hotel guest at the Double Tree Hotel, 39900 Balentine Drive, was walking through the parking lot and found discarded property related to a half dozen auto-burglaries that occurred earlier in the night in Union City. Officer Wang spent the next couple of hours contacting the property owners and meeting with them at the Police Station to return their belongings.

2345 Hours: Officer Geser investigated a window smash auto-burglary on the 6100 block of Jarvis Avenue. The loss was a gym bag and tennis rackets.
