Advisory

Reminder: Cedar Lake West and Broad Street to be closed for milling on Thursday, 9/21; Updated Paving Information

As a reminder, the Township of Denville will be milling Cedar Lake West (between Cedar Lake Road and Bald Nob Road) and Broad Street beginning tomorrow morning at 7:00 am. We strongly encourage all residents in these areas to leave the area with their vehicles or to park their vehicles outside of the work area before the 7:00 am start time, if at all possible. The nature of the roadwork will prohibit the normal flow of traffic and access into and out of the area may be delayed if attempted while the roadwork is in progress. In addition, please attempt to have all parked vehicles removed from the roadway before 7:00 am.

The fire access road to Hillcrest Drive will be open for anyone attempting to access or leave the Cedar Lake West area. However, there will be a period of time when there will be no access into or out of the area, specifically while the roadway is being milled between Seymour Road and Hardman Terrace. To avoid any delays, we once again strongly encourage all residents who may have to leave the area in the morning to attempt to do so before the 7:00 am start time, if possible. In addition, police officers will be on scene to assist with traffic.

The milling work on Broad Street will commence when the milling work on Cedar Lake West has been completed. Anyone attempting to access or leave the area may do so via Broad Street or through the parking area of the old Linear Electric building, depending on the location of the milling machine at that time. Police officers will be present to assist with traffic. However, we once again strongly encourage all residents to attempt to leave the area or have their vehicles parked outside of the work area prior to 7am, if at all possible.

The paving of milled roadways, to include Landing Trail, McDermott Pass and West Glen Road, is scheduled to begin on Friday, September 22nd. At this time, Cedar Lake West is scheduled to be repaved on Monday, September 25th, between the hours of 8:30 am and 2:30 pm. The schedule for the remaining roadways is not set as of this time, but further details will be provided as they become available. We should note that there will be additional delays in opening the newly paved roadways, as the roadway surface must be allowed to cool before vehicular traffic is allowed on it.

Once again, as all of our residents currently do not subscribe to receive Nixle text and e-mail alerts, we would appreciate that you forward this message to any family, friends or neighbors who may live in the affected areas.

We apologize for any inconvenience this road work may cause and thank you for your cooperation.
