San Gabriel Valley East AB109 Task Force arrests a subject who was found with fully automatic handguns and high capacity magazines

LOCATION: Motel 6 @ 840 S. Indian Hill Blvd, Claremont
CRIME: 32310 PC- Possession of High Capacity Magazines, 25400 (a)(1) PC- Possession a loaded firearm
SUSPECT: Augustin Malagon, 21 Years Old, Norco Resident
UNIT: Investigative Services Division
On today's date members of the San Gabriel Valley East AB109 Task Force were conducting compliance checks at the Motel 6 on the Claremont/Pomona city border when they observed a suspicious subject walk into the lobby. The officers noticed he had a bulge in his front waistband and was manipulating it in such a way that it made the officers believe he was concealing a firearm and possibly about to commit armed robbery. The officers contacted the Individual and found him to have a loaded handgun which had been illegally altered to become fully automatic. It was loaded with an illegal 30 round extended magazine. Subsequent investigation and a search warrant revealed another fully automatic handgun and several other high capacity magazines which were fully loaded.
The San Gabriel Valley East AB109 Task Force is comprised of investigators from Pomona, Claremont, El Monte, San Gabriel and the Los Angeles County Probation Department.
