#021 DUI Crash
At 1:00 p.m., Traffic Officer Chinn investigated a collision in the 48600 block of Fremont Blvd. where the driver crashed into a business, then reversed and got his vehicle stuck in a ditch.  Upon inspecting the damage to the vehicle, officers located an unopened can of beer in the cab of the truck and several empty crushed cans in the back of the bed of the truck. The male had several objective symptoms of intoxication.  After a field sobriety test, the male driver was arrested for DUI.  Officer Liu handled the DUI investigation.

#031 Assault with a Deadly Weapon Arrest
Officers responded to a business in the 39100 block of the Fremont Hub to investigate a battery on a security guard and employee.  When officers arrived they learned that a customer (later identified as a 68 year old adult male, Fremont resident) became angry and after a disturbance punched and then kicked a security guard in the head multiple times.  When a female employee came over to assist, he punched her in the face.  Several employees and patrons tackled the suspect and got his license plate before he fled the scene.  The security guard required medical treatment for his injuries and was transported to the hospital.  The suspect was interviewed and officers found probable cause to arrest the suspect for assault with a deadly weapon and battery.  He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.    This case was investigated by Officer Madsen.
 
#028 Robbery Arrest
At 5:17 p.m., officers were dispatched to a grocery store in the 39200 block of Paseo Padre Pkwy to investigate a shoplifting incident.  The store manager attempted to stop a shoplifter after the suspect failed to pay for food and tried to leave the store when confronted.  The suspect then punched the manager in the face and fled the area.  He was last seen walking towards a bank across the street.  Officers Roberts and Bordy located the suspect a short distance away and he was then taken into custody.  The suspect was identified as a 35 year old adult male, Oakland resident.  The suspect became combative after the arrest and had to be “wrapped”, taken to the hospital and booked into Santa Rita Jail. 
 
#002 Public Intoxication Arrest
At 12:41 a.m. Officer Manrique responded to a person down call in the area of Albrae Street and Stevenson Blvd.  A community member had pulled over after seeing a female lying partially on the sidewalk and partially on the road.  As Officer Manrique pulled up to the location, the female stood up and was unsteady on her feet.  Officer Manrique had her sit down for her own safety.  The 20 year old adult female was not very cooperative and would not provide much information.  Officer Manrique attempted to get the number for someone who could pick her up, but she would not provide one.  She stopped communicating at one point and when asked if she would help them get her a ride, she said no.  She was placed under arrest for public intoxication and taken to the Fremont Jail.
 
#005 DUI Arrest
At 2:05 a.m., Officer Manrique was in the area of Grimmer Blvd and Auto Mall Pkwy when he on viewed a Lexus make an unusually wide turn at a high rate of speed onto westbound Auto Mall Pkwy.  Officer Manrique followed the vehicle onto the freeway and observed it drifting several times, either touching or crossing the dotted lane dividers.  As the vehicle continued traveling at inconsistent speeds, a traffic stop was initiated.  Officer Manrique contacted the driver and observed several signs of intoxication.  After a field sobriety test, the 54 year old adult male, San Jose resident was arrested for driving under the influence.

#007 DUI Arrest
At 3:38 a.m., Officer Manrique observed a vehicle accelerate rapidly after making a turn from Stevenson Blvd to southbound Paseo Padre Pkwy.  Officer Manrique attempted to catch up to the vehicle, but it was traveling well in excess of 65 mph.  He caught up to the vehicle near Gomes Rd.  The vehicle slowly turned through the red light, which turned green as the driver was in the middle of the intersection.  A stop was initiated at Lemos Lane and Camero Way.  After a field sobriety test and in-field PAS test, the 28 year old adult male driver, Fremont resident, was arrested for driving under the influence.

#015 Criminal Threats
Residents at 44873 Camelia Dr called 911 to report 41 year old male had battered family members and was possibly armed with a handgun.  All available officers responded to the residence and coordinated a surround and call-out.  The male was detained without incident after being reached via telephone and ultimately arrested for criminal threats.  Investigated by Officer Liu.

#004 Injury Collision
At 2:14 a.m., officers responded to investigate a roll over collision involving a vehicle vs three parked vehicles in the 40400 block of Marcia Street.   The sole female occupant had to be extradited from the vehicle and suffered only a minor cut to her arm.

#012 Battery
A community member in the area of Rowland Drive confronted three males for throwing trash from their vehicle.  One of the passengers, an 18 year old adult male, exited the vehicle and punched the male twice.  Officer Singh and Officer Balacorta located the vehicle a short time later and arrested the suspect for battery after a positive in-field line-up. 

#013 DUI Arrest
At 1:07 p.m., Officer LaStrape was dispatched to the area of Glenwood Street to investigate a hit and run collision.  Officers located and arrested a 28 year old adult male, Fremont resident after he crashed his black Dodge Challenger into two parked cars and walked away from the scene.  He was arrested for DUI and Hit and Run.  

#018 Warrant Arrest
At 3:49 p.m., Officer Balcorta and FTO Singh conducted a pedestrian stop and subsequently arrested a 42 year old adult male for two active warrants. He was booked at Santa Rita.

#027 Petty Theft
At 7:35 p.m., loss prevention at Whole Foods arrested a female for shoplifting and she was refusing to identify herself.  Officer Kennedy investigated the incident and subsequently issued the 55 year old adult female a citation/notice to appear for petty theft.
Swing shift responded to three mental health calls, resulting in three evaluations/holds. 

#028 Non-injury Collision
The street racers were back in force between Fremont and Union City generating several calls for service from Page/Milmont up to the north end near Paseo and Sequoia.  One participant damaged a building on Page and fled the scene.

#034 Armed Robbery  
At 9:58 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a robbery with a firearm in the 34400 block of Fremont Blvd.  At approximately 9:50 p.m. a male victim was approaching a bus stop on Paseo Padre Pkwy at Milton Street when two suspect appeared from behind the bus stop advertisement sign.  One suspect held a handgun and pushed the victim to the ground.  He then searched the victim’s pockets and took his ID and iPhone.  They were last seen fleeing westbound on Paseo Padre Pkwy.  No vehicle was seen.  The two suspects were described as black male adults wearing black hooded sweatshirts.   Investigated by Officer Sun.

#003 Battery Arrest
At 11:49 p.m., officers responded to the 39100 block of Argonaut Way to investigate a battery.  A male suspect was pushing and hitting an employee of a grocery store multiple times with a loaf of French bread.  While the victim did not sustain major injuries, he wanted to press charges.  Officers arrived and found the male suspect yelling at an employee.  Officers contacted the suspect and directed him to exit the store.  He did not comply and continued to yell.  Additional officers arrived on scene and they handcuffed the suspect and walked him outside.   The 39 year old adult male suspect went to Santa Rita  for the battery and a probation violation.
